The MC200CM is a media converter designed to convert 1000Base-SX fiber media to 1000Base-T copper media or vice versa
The MC200CM was designed in accordance with the 1000Base-T standard (IEEE802.3ab) and the 1000Base-SX standard (IEEE802.3z) and is intended for use with multi-mode fiber optic cable and the SC connector
The MC200CM supports the shortwave (SX) laser specification at a forwarding rate that corresponds to full bandwidth. It works at 850nm both when sending and receiving data
Other features of the module include the option of using the device as a standalone device (no housing is required) or with the 19-inch system housing from TP-LINK to use Auto MDI/MDIX for the transmitter port and status LED on the front. The MC200CM transmits in Fibre Optic Long Distance mode over a distance of up to 550m using the multimode fiber optic cable
